the story behind the first cover photo
I have known for quite some time that I really wanted to capture the amazing light, unique atmosphere and the warm temperatures of Southern Europe. So when the opportunity arose in the form of an invite from the wonderful Rene, to travel to the South of France for a veritable photography fiesta, i jumped at the chance!I had previously worked with Rene on other weddings in the fairytale castle Chateau Challain. So i was excited for the delights ahead!. Our morning started at Chateau Blomac which has recently been renovated with wonderful style and character. Then on to Pezenas in the afternoon,a romantic town full of character near the sea and not too far Carcassonne.I really feel this photo captures the wonderful atmosphere of a magical place.
After getting ourselves ready and organised we went for our stroll around town. We had a few locations in mind and one was this beautiful studio of artist Johny Darko from Australia. The studio is full of quirky old furniture that I knew would look amazing on the old cobble stones in the narrow streets.. So what better spot for my couple to sit and enjoy a glass of Moet Chandon!
Taking the photo itself was actually done very quickly. I always know when the atmosphere, which i value most in a photo, is just perfect so I just had to wait for the “right moment” There were a lot of tourists around so i was lucky i just had to wait a few seconds until the background was clear, then “click”!!
